Job Description / Responsibility
  • Job Summary: The position is an integral part of the organization’s social services program. The Program Officer (Health) will be responsible for providing support in initiating, managing and implementing of different health programs and events under social services program of MSS. S/he will provide support in monitoring, supervision, and oversee budgets, and work for the development of the programs. S/he will ensure the alignment between the organization’s goals and mission with the program’s activities.

  • Major Responsibilities:
  • Major responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of health programs, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Monitor program activities to ensure they align with program objectives.
  • Design; develop and implement health programs based on identified community needs.
  • Organize and facilitate different training sessions, workshops, and events for program staff and community including developing training materials to meet the goals of the social services program of the organization.
  • Conduct needs assessment and feasibility studies to inform program planning.
  • Identify funding opportunities and assist in writing grant proposals and fundraising efforts.
  • Capacity building of assigned team members on different initiatives, and strategies for health programs of the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of the budget for the health component and oversee the expenditures.
  • Assist in developing appropriate tools, collect, analyze and interpret data to measure program outcomes and impact.
  • Build and maintain reliable partnerships and healthy relationships with the community, other organizations, donors, health service providers, and government agencies.
  • Prepare reports independently, share with the management of the organization, and prepare presentations on program activities to the senior management of MSS, national and international visitors.
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing among staffs.
  • Attend training, meetings, and workshops to update knowledge and skills as assigned.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Educational Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Science/ Development Studies/ Public Health or relevant subjects from any recognized university with good academic results. Applicants with 3rd class in any level of education will not be considered.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 3 years

Additional Job Requirements
  • Age at most 40 years
  • At least 3 years of working experience including at least 2 years in health program in any national/international NGO. The applicants should have experience in the following business areas(s): * Health,** Nutrition,** Mother & child health care
  • A clear understanding of health & nutrition programs, and mother & child health care programs in Bangladesh.
  • Experience in working with MoH & FW, and City Corporation will be a plus for the candidate.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to work with a diversified group of people.
  • Analytical and Multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines consistently
  • Understanding organizational goals and objectives and operating programs accordingly.
  • Good skills in design and facilitation, and report writing both in English and Bangla.
  • Proficiency in computer using, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet etc.
