Job Description / Responsibility
- The Head of Operations – Factory will oversee end-to-end factory operations for the production of optical fiber cables. The role involves managing manufacturing, maintenance, quality control, supply chain, and workforce management to ensure optimum productivity, cost-efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Lead day-to-day factory operations including production, quality, maintenance, planning, and logistics.
- Set operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement across all departments.
- Ensure on-time production and delivery to meet customer demands and project deadlines.
- Production Management:
- Develop and implement effective production schedules based on demand forecasts and order pipelines.
- Optimize machine and manpower utilization to improve output and reduce downtime.
- Ensure proper calibration and operation of specialized optical fiber equipment and machinery.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement stringent quality control protocols to ensure product meets international standards (e.g., ITU-T, ISO, etc.).Work closely with the Quality team to address deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Supply Chain & Inventory:
- Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure raw material availability and efficient inventory control.
- Manage vendor relationships for machinery, raw materials, and consumables.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and develop a high-performing operations team including line supervisors, engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with local laws and international standards for health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture across the plant.
- Strategic Involvement:
- Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for operations.
- Contribute to CAPEX and OPEX decisions related to plant expansion, technology upgrades, and automation initiatives.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Eng & Production, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing
Experience Requirements
- 10 to 15 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Electronic Equipment/Home Appliances, Electric Wire/Cable
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 35 to 50 years
- Candidate will be given preference with work experience in the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) projects located in Gazipur, Rajshahi, or Sylhet.
- Experience in optical fiber cable manufacturing or related high-precision cable/electronics industry is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and ERP systems.
- Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
