Assistant Manager - Commercial

Job Description / Responsibility

Manage the team and maintain close coordination with reporting authority
Supplier Communication:
Maintain regular communication with Merchandiser & Chinese suppliers for smooth coordination
Collect and verify Proforma Invoices (PIs) for imported materials
Ensure materials/specs match approved sourcing and procurement plan
Documentation & Compliance:
Identify correct HS Codes for all materials as per organization’s Bond License
Ensure compliance with bonded warehouse import procedures
Track and maintain import documentation as per customs and internal audit requirements
LC (Letter of Credit) Management:
Liaise with banks to open, amend, or settle LCs in a timely manner
Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure necessary LC limits/funds are available
Ensure LC terms match PI and shipment schedules
Shipment Coordination:
Make and verify Packing Lists based on PO/PI and shipment plan
Arrange forwarder/booking with nominated or approved freight forwarders
Monitor shipment progress and ensure timely cargo movement
Coordinate with shipping lines, C&F agents, and freight partners for updates
Customs & Port Handling:
Arrange and submit shipping documents (BL, Invoice, PL, COO, etc.) for customs clearance at Chattogram Port
Ensure timely release of goods from port with proper duty/bond procedures
Handle port-related formalities and maintain liaison with Customs, C&F agent, and Bond Office
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain import tracking sheet and update shipment status regularly
Archive shipping documents systematically for audit and compliance
Provide regular updates to the Management, Merchandising & Production teams
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Coordinate with Purchase, Bond, Store, Planning, and Finance teams for seamless operations
Assist in solving discrepancies related to import or supplier issue

Educational Requirements

Bachelor/Honors
Minimum Graduate in relevant field, can be relaxed for experienced candidates.
Proficiency and fluency in English is must.

4 to 6 years
