Job Description / Responsibility
- Chemical Handling and Storage:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming chemical shipments.
- Safely store chemicals according to compatibility and hazard classifications.
- Implement proper labeling, segregation, and storage techniques.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels and prevent shortages or overages.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct safety inspections of storage areas and equipment.
- Provide training on chemical handling procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals in storage.
- Inventory Management:
- Develop and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels and movements.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supply levels.
- Rotate stock to minimize waste and ensure product quality.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all chemical transactions, including receipts, transfers, and disposals.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, usage rates, and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements set by regulatory agencies.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Emergency Response:
- Serve as a first responder in the event of chemical spills or emergencies.
- Coordinate with emergency services and environmental agencies as needed.
- Implement spill containment and cleanup procedures.
- Conduct post-incident assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize workflow and ensure efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address warehouse-related issues.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues on chemical handling best practices.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor/Honors
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Technical/Engineering
- Certification in hazardous materials handling and emergency response procedures is a plus.
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Textile, Dyeing Factory
Additional Job Requirements
- Experience in chemical warehousing or logistics preferred.
- Knowledge of chemical storage regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
