Job Description / Responsibility
- We are an INTERNATIONAL BUYING HOUSE doing business in Bangladesh for more than 27 years. We are looking to recruit “Fashion Designers” for Menswear and Sportswear for its Liaison Office in Dhaka (Uttara).
- Design the garment ranging from tops to bottoms for Menswear and sportswear.
- Lead fitting and work closely with the Technical Team to follow up developments execution step by step.
- Should be creative with good design ideas & be capable of executing the garment design as per the given brief/deadline.
- Work closely with Merchandisers/ Marketing Team/ Sourcing Team and Factory to prepare the product as per design and other technical aspects within specified deadlines.
- Ensure technical execution to include drawings, including measurements, color pantones, and design detail specifications of all illustrative art.
- Maintain aesthetic and design that is on brand throughout all design work.
- Develop complete tech packs in coordination with the design team, including detailed specifications, fabrications, and technical drawings.
- Global Trend Analysis, based on Theme and Region, propose and develop trendy new designs.
- Lead the ideation and conceptualization of garment designs that align with the brand’s aesthetic and target market.
- Stay up to date with fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demands to inform design direction.
- Conduct trend research and analysis to anticipate future fashion directions and integrate relevant elements into design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, product development, and marketing, to align on design concepts and product strategies. Effectively communicate design concepts and ideas to internal teams and suppliers.
- Introduce innovative design elements and techniques that differentiate the brand from competitors and capture consumer interest.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Fashion Design and Technology.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Garments, Buying House
Additional Job Requirements
- A minimum 5 years of practical experience in a similar position.
- Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD tools.
- Practical experience with the 3D-Clo Fashion Design Software would be an advantage.
- Must have experience with mood boards, drawing/sketching, ideation, tech pack production, digital product creation, and visual presentation development.
- Assist the Head of the Department by giving necessary information to run the department smoothly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook) and using the Internet.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is mandatory.
- Ability to work under pressure & independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to travel abroad.
- Any other duties assigned by the Management.
