Job Description / Responsibility
- Conduct medical assessments of inpatients, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests for thalassemia patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for thalassemia patients.
- Determine blood transfusion requirements.
- Oversee the administration of blood transfusions, ensuring adherence to protocols for patient safety and infection control.
- Work closely with hematologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
- Coordinate with laboratory and diagnostic services to ensure timely and accurate test results.
- Coordinate with administrative staff for patient appointments and scheduling.
- Monitor patients’ progress, adjust treatments as necessary, and manage any complications or side effects of therapies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements regarding documentation and patient care.
- Stay updated with the latest medical research and advancements in thalassemia care.
- Aware patients and their families about thalassemia, its complications, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans.
- Provide counselling and support to help patients and families cope with the chronic nature of the disease.
- Organize blood donation campaigns that ensure donor safety and education while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and implement educational initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations, dispelling myths, addressing concerns, and highlighting its life-saving impact through PowerPoint presentations.
- Work Hours: Our regular work follows a roster with two shifts (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) and (1:00 pm to 09:00 pm).
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
Experience Requirements
- 1 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Clinic, Diagnostic Centre, Healthcare/Lifestyle product, Hospital, NGO
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 25 years
- Only Female
- BMDC registration is a must.
- Candidates should have experience in public awareness programs.
- Experience working in a blood bank or transfusion medicine will be considered an added advantage for the candidate.
