Job Description / Responsibility
- Role Objective: Oversee overall management of the feed mill facility, including production, quality control, workforce, and machinery for zero downtime.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute weekly/monthly production schedules to meet sales targets while minimizing waste.
- Ensure raw materials (e.g., maize, soy meal) and finished pellets meet nutritional standards and moisture content.
- Monitor stock levels; coordinate with procurement to avoid out-of-stock scenarios.
- Supervise engineering team for preventive maintenance on pelleting machines, grinders, and mixers.
- Enforce HSE protocols, labor laws, and environmental compliance.
- Manage supervisors, technicians, and laborers (recruitment, training, evaluations).
- Optimize costs like electricity, fuel, and labor for "Cost per Ton" (CPT).
- Reports to: Director of Operations to Director Marketing
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering
- Master of Science (MSc) in Animal Husbandry
- Master of Science (MSc) in Food & Nutrition
- B.Sc in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Masters in Animal Husbandry/Nutrition.
- 7+ years (10+ preferred in feed mill industry, with 3-5 years managerial)
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
