Job Description / Responsibility
- Sheraton Dhaka, a renowned five-star international hotel, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager – Engineering to lead all engineering and maintenance operations of the property.
- The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with strong focus on safety, security, asset protection, regulatory compliance, energy conservation, and preventive maintenance.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering & Maintenance Operations
- Manage the entire physical plant including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, water treatment, and mechanical equipment.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of repair work orders.
- Maintain life safety systems including fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems.
- Conduct monthly property inspections and evaluate facility conditions.
- Supervise maintenance of guestrooms, public areas, restaurants, recreational facilities, and property vehicles.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Maintain building licenses and equipment certifications.
- Lead and support emergency response procedures.
- Ensure fire crew readiness and understanding of emergency protocols.
- Enforce lockout/tagout procedures and PPE safety compliance.
- Energy & Asset Management
- Monitor and control heat, light, and power usage.
- Recommend and implement energy conservation initiatives.
- Develop long-term asset protection and preventive maintenance plans.
- Manage parts, tools, and equipment inventory.
- Project & Budget Management
- Manage departmental budget and capital expenditure projects.
- Develop project plans for renovations and new construction.
- Coordinate contractor bidding processes and supervise project execution within budget and timeline.
- Develop and administer service contracts.
- Guest Satisfaction & Leadership
- Display strong leadership in guest hospitality and service culture.
- Conduct guest room and public area inspections to ensure quality standards.
- Review guest feedback and satisfaction reports to identify improvement areas.
- Implement corrective action plans to enhance service performance.
- Build positive relationships with regulatory authorities, vendors, and external stakeholders.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg)
- Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology,Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology,Khulna University of Engineering and Technology,Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology,Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology students will get preference
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hotel, Resort, Shipping, Hospital
Additional Job Requirements

- Technical Competencies:
- Strong expertise in maintenance and repair (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, building systems).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Skilled in operating and maintaining hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and PPE compliance.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical or related field preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of engineering leadership experience in hospitality or large facility management.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and hotel operations.
- Proven leadership, budgeting, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
