Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Context:
- Independently manage and oversee all VAT-related activities of the factory.
- Ensure full compliance with VAT laws, rules, and regulations.
- Handle VAT operations and reporting through SAP ERP and e-VAT software.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, statements, and related documentation on time.
- Lead and supervise the VAT team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Manage VAT audits, assessments, appeals, and tribunal matters.
- Maintain regular communication with VAT authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate closely with Accounts, Procurement, and Commercial departments to ensure accurate VAT treatment in all transactions.
- Monitor changes in VAT laws and implement necessary updates in processes.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Calculate monthly VAT liability and post entries in the software
- Reconcile data between ERP and EVAT software.
- Prepare and reconcile VAT returns
- Prepare and submit VDS and TDS statements
- Prepare and deposit VAT, VDS, and TDS treasury challans
- Issue VDS and TDS certificates to relevant parties
- Lead the plant VAT team and handle factory-related VAT issues
- Partial experience in dealing with the Divisional office and the Commissionaire office
- Deal with Appeal / Tribunal
- Experience in VAT software (NBR)
- Inventory management
- Maintain regular communication and handle queries from the VAT authority
- Ensure proper deduction of TDS and VDS from all supplier invoices
- Assist internal departments on tax and VAT-related matters
- Ensure accurate implementation of VAT and Tax calculations in SAP
- Prepare and submit all required documents for VAT audits
- Handle VAT audits, appeals, and tribunal cases
- Ensure practical application of relevant VAT rules (e.g., 9.1, 4.3, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.6, etc.)
- Maintain liaison and communication with VAT offices
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Commerce (MCom)
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Packaging Industry, Pharmaceutical/Medicine Companies, Plastic/ Polymer Industry
