Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Announcement
- JiVitA, a maternal and child health and nutrition research project of Johns Hopkins University in Bangladesh (JHUB), operating in Gaibandha District with its project headquarter (PHQ) in Rangpur City and registered with the Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau, is seeking qualified applicants for the following post:
- Place of Posting: JiVitA Field Head Quarter, Bamandanga, Sundarganj, Gaibandha
- Position description:
- The position holder will be responsible for administering assessments of cognitive and motor functions among adolescent girls in rural Bangladesh. All assessments will be conducted following the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure high-quality, reliable data collection. The position holder needs to adhere to organizational values and guidelines while undertaking the specific responsibilities detailed below:
- Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct daily cognitive, and motor function assessments of adolescent participants at the designated testing center.
- Assist in translating, adapting, and field-testing of psychometric assessment tools.
- Perform routine maintenance of assessment tools and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities.
- Coordinate closely with study and field teams for smooth implementation of study activities.
- Maintain high standards of data quality, punctuality, and adherence to study protocols.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Be willing to work full-time and reside in the JiVitA project site for up to one year.
Educational Requirements
- Masters
- Master’s degree in any subject, but preferably in psychology, clinical psychology, early childhood development or related field.

- While we value diverse educational backgrounds, applicants are expected to demonstrate practical expertise in psychometric assessments. We are specifically looking for experience with tools such as the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, Word Span, Dimensional Change Card Sort, Wide Range Achievement Test, Movement Assessment Battery for Children, and Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development.
- Strong communication skills in Bangla and English.
- Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals will be considered an advantage.

Other Benefits
Salary: BDT 42,000 (negotiable based on experience and expertise)
Gratuity, festival bonus as per policy. The position will be for a 1-year contract and will be renewable according to organizational needs and availability of funds.
The project will provide necessary training to selected candidates. Job offers will be made to those who successfully meet the required reliability standards during the training phase.
