Job Description / Responsibility
  • Organization Overview:
  • Barinagar Samaj Kalyan Sangstha (BSKS) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-communal, and non-profit local development organization established in 1988. BSKS works to reduce the suffering of poor and disadvantaged people and improve their socio-economic conditions, giving priority to persons with disabilities, women, and children in all development initiatives. BSKS is implementing the “Body Talk 2.0” project in Jashore district with financial and technical support from Lilian Fonds and the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD). A key focus of the project is SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights), ensuring access to accurate information and services while promoting informed decision-making about one’s body and reproductive health. The initiative aims to empower children and youth with disabilities and foster a more inclusive, safe, and accessible society.
  • Job Overview:
  • The SRHR Training Officer will be responsible for planning, delivering, and monitoring SRHR training sessions, ensuring children, youth, caregivers, and community members gain knowledge and skills related to sexual and reproductive health and rights. The role focuses on capacity building, awareness raising, and empowerment, working closely with project staff, families, and community stakeholders to promote inclusive and effective SRHR education.

  • Reporting To: Project Coordinator.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Training and Capacity Building:
  • Plan, develop, and deliver SRHR training sessions for children, youth with disabilities, caregivers, and community members.
  • Assess training needs and adapt content based on participants’ feedback and requirements.
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation of training sessions and recommend improvements.
  • Develop training materials, guides, and resources aligned with SRHR principles.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Work closely with families and caregivers to support the active participation of children and youth with disabilities.
  • Promote awareness of disability rights and the importance of inclusion.
  • Support community-led initiatives to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in CBR programs.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare monthly, bi-monthly, half-yearly, and annual reports in English and share with the donor.
  • Document project learnings and ensure proper preservation of materials for future use.
  • Maintain regular communication and correspondence with donor representatives.
  • Collect data and document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from field activities.
  • Submit regular training and field reports to the Project Coordinator.
  • Advocacy and Awareness:
  • Advocate for inclusive practices in education, healthcare, livelihoods, and social participation.
  • Organize community awareness campaigns and events to promote the rights of children and youth with disabilities.
  • Collaboration with Program Team:
  • Work closely with program staff to ensure training activities align with overall program objectives.
  • Support the development and dissemination of informational materials for the program.
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to project staff during SRHR activities.

Educational Requirements
  • Master of Social Science (MSS)
  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field. Experience as a trainer in SRHR or sexual and reproductive health programs is an added advantage.

Additional Job Requirements
  • Age At most 45 years
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in community-based program implementation, preferably with SRHR knowledge.
  • Age: Maximum 45 years; age limit may be relaxed for highly experienced and qualified candidates.
  • Skills & Competencies Required:
  • Strong training and facilitation skills with experience delivering SRHR content.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to develop training materials and resources.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), databases, and internet use.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of SRHR concepts, CBR principles, and disability-inclusive approaches.
  • Ability to collect and analyze information, and prepare basic reports in English.
  • Valid driving license and access to a computer and smartphone.
  • Commitment to empowerment of women and persons with disabilities; preference given based on qualifications and experience.
