Job Description / Responsibility
  • Program: Body Talk 2
  • Job Location: The job is based in Jashore district but with regular travel to upazila and union level for implementation of project activities smoothly.
  • Reporting To: Project Coordinator / Training Officer/ Project Officer.
  • Organization Overview:
  • Banchte Shekha is a renowned non-governmental organization (NGO) in Bangladesh, established in 1976 by Dr. Angela Gomes, a prominent social worker and advocate for women’s empowerment. The name “Banchte Shekha,” meaning “Learn How to Survive,” reflects the organization’s mission to empower disadvantaged communities particularly women, children, and marginalized groups through education, skill development, and rights-based social advocacy.
  • Banchte Shekha is implementing a project titled “Body Talk 2” in Jashore district with financial and technical support from Liliane Fonds and Centre for Disability in Development (CDD). The project focuses on promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for children and youth with disabilities by improving their access to inclusive, accurate, and age-appropriate SRHR information and services.
  • Through community awareness, capacity building of service providers, and engagement with caregivers, educators, and community leaders, the project aims to address stigma, discrimination, and barriers that prevent children and youth with disabilities from exercising their rights. By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, the initiative seeks to empower them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being and contribute to building a more equitable and accessible society.
  • Job Overview – Case Manager (SRHR Project)
  • The Case Manager will play a pivotal role in implementing the Body Talk 2 Project under the guidance of the Project Coordinator. The position is responsible for providing direct support to children and youth with disabilities and their families, ensuring access to inclusive, rights-based Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services and interventions. The Case Manager will assess the needs of children and youth, develop individualized support plans, and coordinate with project staff, service providers, caregivers, and community stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery of services. They will monitor progress, provide mentoring, and facilitate access to healthcare, education, and social support, ensuring that interventions are inclusive, age-appropriate, and disability-sensitive.
  • In addition, the Case Manager will contribute to community engagement initiatives to reduce stigma and discrimination, support the adaptation of training and educational materials, and strengthen the capacity of local actors to provide inclusive SRHR information and services. Through these efforts, the Case Manager will empower children and youth with disabilities to exercise their rights, make informed health decisions, and actively participate in their families and communities.
  • Key Responsibilities – Case Manager (SRHR Project / Body Talk 2)
  • Case Management and Individual Support
  • Assess the needs of children and youth with disabilities.
  • Develop individualized support plans based on identified needs.
  • Prepare and implement Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs).
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to children, youth with disabilities, and their families.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups to monitor progress and ensure service access.
  • Facilitate access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services.
  • Support access to healthcare, education, and other essential social services.
  • Conduct home visits to monitor development, enhance skills, and promote participation.
  • Community Engagement and Advocacy
  • Conduct awareness sessions in households and communities on disability inclusion.
  • Promote positive attitudes and reduce stigma related to disability.
  • Mobilize families and communities to participate in Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) activities.
  • Encourage participation in SRHR awareness and educational programs.
  • Support early identification of children with disabilities in communities.
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate services based on individual needs.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to ensure referred services are accessed.
  • Coordination and Partnerships
  • Coordinate with project staff to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Collaborate with service providers to support children and youth with disabilities.
  • Liaise with schools to promote inclusive education.
  • Work with local authorities to strengthen disability-inclusive initiatives.
  • Coordinate with NGOs and community organizations to expand support services.
  • Strengthen referral mechanisms between service providers.
  • Encourage participation of children and youth with disabilities in program activities and decision-making.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
  • Maintain accurate case records for children and youth with disabilities.
  • Update Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs) regularly.
  • Use ICF-aligned documentation tools and logbooks.
  • Track progress and monitor outcomes of case management interventions.
  • Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Project Coordinator.
  • Contribute to reports required by donor agencies.
  • Support the adaptation and development of training and educational materials.
  • Inclusion, Safeguarding, and Do No Harm
  • Promote a rights-based approach in all project activities.
  • Ensure child-friendly and disability-inclusive practices.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Apply the “Do No Harm” principle during service delivery and community engagement.
  • Provide appropriate social and emotional support to children with disabilities and their families.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist in organizing community awareness and outreach programs.
  • Support the organization of medical camps and health services.
  • Assist beneficiaries in accessing disability identification cards.
  • Support children and youth with disabilities in accessing educational stipends.
  • Promote inclusive livelihood and economic opportunities.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator to support project objectives.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor / Masters’s degree in in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, Public Health, or related field.
  • Specialized training in CBR or disability inclusion is an advantage.

  • 3 to 5 years

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in working with communities, particularly with children and youth with disabilities, is highly desirable.
