Job Description / Responsibility
- Overview: The New Asia Group is comprised of six entities forming a vertically-integrated apparel manufacturing organization, headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 1987, the Group began with Rahim Textile Mills and has since expanded into producing greige yarn, denim fabric, knitted garments, sweater garments, and denim garments. - We are seeking a compatible Fit & Construction Executive- Product Development who will work for our Seamless Garment factory, J.M. Fabrics Limited at Rajendrapur, Gazipur and who meets the following Criteria:
- Key Responsibilities:
- Fit Development & Evaluation
- Conduct fit sessions on live models, mannequins, or dress forms.
- Analyze garment balance, proportion, and silhouette according to buyer specifications.
- Identify and correct fitting issues (tightness, pulling, gaping, length imbalance, etc.).
- Provide clear fit comments and corrections to pattern and sample teams.
- Garment Construction Review
- Evaluate stitching quality, seam types, finishing techniques, and overall workmanship.
- Ensure correct seam allowance, SPI (stitches per inch), and construction methods as per tech pack.
- Recommend construction improvements for durability and production efficiency.
- Check trim placements, pocket positioning, collar/armhole balance, and placket alignment.
- Pattern & Technical Support
- Work closely with pattern makers to adjust blocks and grading for accurate sizing.
- Review and update measurement charts after fit corrections.
- Assist in pattern correction based on buyer comments.
- Maintain fit history records for repeat styles.
- Sample Development Coordination
- Coordinate with sample room to ensure correct interpretation of tech packs.
- Ensure samples are developed according to buyer requirements and timeline.
- Verify fabric behavior, shrinkage, and wash impact during fitting.
- Monitor proto, fit sample, size set, and pre-production sample (PPS).
- Buyer Communication Support
- Prepare detailed fit comments with marked photos.
- Support merchandising team during buyer fit meetings (virtual or physical).
- Implement buyer fit corrections accurately and promptly.
- Quality & Standardization
- Maintain brand-specific fit standards and measurement tolerances.
- Develop fit blocks for different buyers or markets.
- Ensure consistency across multiple production lines.
- Identify recurring construction problems and recommend preventive actions.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain fit log sheets and correction history.
- Update technical files after each fit stage.
- Track approval status of samples.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fashion Designing
- BGMEA University of Fashion Technology,Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology students will get preference
Experience Requirements
- 1 to 2 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments
- Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 23 years
- Only Female
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and pattern making.
- Excellent understanding of sizing, grading, and measurement charts.
- Ability to interpret technical packs and CAD drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills (verbal & written).
- Knowledge of knit fabric behavior and wash effects.
- Experience with Gerber or Tuka pattern-making is considered an added advantage.
