Job Description / Responsibility
- 1. Customs Clearance:
- Prepare and submit customs documents.
- Process import and export declarations.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Coordinate with customs officials for cargo release.
- 2. Documentation Management:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading (B/L)
- Air Waybill (AWB)
- Bill of Entry (BOE)
- Certificate of Origin
- Insurance documents
- Verify accuracy of shipping documents.
- 3. Port and Terminal Coordination:
- Liaise with port authorities, shipping lines, and terminal operators.
- Arrange cargo delivery from ports, ICDs, or airports.
- Monitor container movement and release procedures.
- 4. Transportation Arrangement:
- Coordinate inland transportation.
- Arrange trucks and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to the consignee.
- 5. Duty and Tax Processing:
- Calculate customs duties, VAT, AIT, AT, and other applicable taxes.
- Assist importers in making duty payments.
- 6. Shipment Tracking:
- Track shipment status from origin to destination.
- Update importers/exporters regarding cargo arrival and clearance progress.
- 7. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulations of:
- National Board of Revenue (Bangladesh)
- Customs authorities
- Port authorities
- Relevant government agencies
- 8. Problem Resolution:
- Handle customs queries and discrepancies.
- Resolve document mismatches.
- Manage detention, demurrage, and port-related issues.
- 9. Client Communication:
- Provide regular status updates.
- Advise clients on import/export procedures.
- Assist in reducing clearance delays and costs.
- 10. Record Keeping:
- Maintain shipment files and customs records.
- Archive import and export documents for audit and compliance purposes.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Electronic Equipment/Home Appliances, Engineering Firms, Group of Companies, Manufacturing (FMCG), Multinational Companies
