Job Description / Responsibility
- We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and forward-thinking Agriculturist to oversee the complete management and business development of our Agro-Farm. Currently, our operations primarily focus on dairy/cattle farming. However, we have imminent plans to relocate and expand our entire farm to a larger, newly developed facility. The expansion will introduce multi-disciplinary agricultural wings (Cows, Grass/Fodder Production, and other prospective agro-sectors). The ideal candidate will manage the current staff, plan and execute the farm relocation smoothly, and lead the future expanded project.
- Overall Supervision & Team Management:
- Directly monitor and coordinate the daily tasks of all staff groups (Monitoring, Nutrition & Health, Livestock Production, and Farm Operations Support).
- Ensure efficient workforce distribution and manage alternative personnel in case of absenteeism.
- Livestock Health & Breeding Management:
- Ensure 100% timely medical treatment, routine vaccination, deworming, and breeding artificial insemination programs for the cattle.
- Supervise the health and nutrition team to provide special care and daily monitoring for sick cows.
- Feed & Inventory Procurement:
- Oversee feed mixing and guarantee the quality and exact quantity of daily rations.
- Manage inventory and place timely requisitions for food, medicine, and other essential farm inputs.
- Fodder/Grass Cultivation & Land Management:
- Supervise grass cultivation, land preparation, fertilization, irrigation, and harvesting.
- Plan efficient fodder production and silage making to ensure year-round feed security.
- Commercial Operations & Business Development:
- Manage cattle purchase and sales operations to ensure profitability.
- Oversee milk production, packaging, pricing, and distribution channels.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in agro-sector expansion (dairy, fodder, organic farming, and related ventures).
- Build and maintain relationships with buyers, suppliers, and business partners to expand market reach.
- Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain and update master records regarding daily milk production, expenses, livestock health, and breeding data.
- Generate and present regular performance reports to upper management.
- Infrastructure & Biosecurity:
- Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of farm infrastructure (sheds, electricity, water supply) and machinery (e.g., grass choppers).
- Implement strict biosecurity protocols (disinfection) and ensure occupational safety for all workers.
- Farm Relocation & Future Expansion:
- Design the layout, plan, and execute the complete transition of the farm from its current location to the new venue.
- Establish and manage the new agricultural projects/sectors at the relocated site.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the In-Charge or Appropriate Authority.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Agro based Startup, Dairy, Food (Packaged), Food (Packaged)/Beverage, Group of Companies, Livestock
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 26 years
- Practical experience in managing commercial dairy and integrated agro-farms. Prior experience in farm setup, expansion, or relocation will be highly valued.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage a team of field-level workers and supervisors, with strong decision-making skills under critical situations.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and Email) for data logging and report preparation.
- Business Mindset: Ability to identify growth opportunities and contribute to agro-business development.
