- Job Summary
- Cassiopea Sweaters Ltd (CSL) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Quality to lead and strengthen the quality function across our sweater manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality from yarn inspection through knitting, linking, sewing, washing, finishing, and final shipment while maintaining buyer standards and reducing quality defects.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the entire Quality Department of the factory.
- Develop and implement quality systems, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality performance across all production stages including knitting, linking, sewing, washing, finishing, packing, and shipment.
- Establish and maintain DHU targets, quality KPIs, and defect reduction programs.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure compliance with buyer quality requirements and AQL standards.
- Manage inline, end-line, and final inspections to achieve shipment approval targets.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Production, Technical, Washing, and Planning teams to resolve quality issues.
- Analyze quality data and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management.
- Lead quality audits conducted by buyers and third-party inspection agencies.
- Train and develop quality personnel, inspectors, and quality supervisors.
- Ensure effective needle control, metal detection, and product safety procedures.
- Drive Right First Time (RFT) initiatives and promote a quality-focused culture throughout the factory.
- Monitor customer complaints, claims, and returns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor/Honors
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Sweater Industry
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 21 years
- Requirements
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in garment manufacturing quality management.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior quality leadership role within a sweater or knitwear factory.
- Strong knowledge of sweater manufacturing processes including knitting, linking, sewing, washing, and finishing.
- Excellent understanding of AQL systems, DHU management, root cause analysis, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience working with international buyers from Europe, UK, and North America.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet shipment deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quality reporting systems.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in large-scale sweater manufacturing operations.
- Strong exposure to buyers such as Matalan, Boohoo, Lefties, Primark, George, or similar international retailers.
- Textile Engineering background preferred.
