Job Description / Responsibility
- Key Responsibilities:
- Source local yarn from various local spinning mills through both cash purchases and supplier contacts.
- Monitor and follow up on the shipment status of imported yarn to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate and follow up on Letters of Credit (LCs) and supplier payments with the relevant departments.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure yarn quality standards and required certifications are maintained.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Planning, Production, Quality, and Accounts & Finance departments.
- Coordinate shipment scheduling and logistics activities to minimize port demurrage and related costs for imported yarn.
- Liaise regularly with the Yarn Procurement Team regarding sourcing, shipment, and supply matters.
- Work closely with the Planning Department to ensure timely yarn procurement based on production requirements.
- Continuously monitor yarn market trends, pricing, and volatility to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure uninterrupted yarn supply.
- Prepare procurement reports, market analyses, and cost comparison statements for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical sourcing practices.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- 6 to 8 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Textile
Additional Job Requirements
- Experience Requirements:
- 6–8 years of experience in Yarn Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Commercial Operations within the textile and garments industry.
- Required Skills:
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Sound knowledge of yarn sourcing, quality parameters, and textile supply chains.
- Good understanding of import procedures, LC operations, and shipment management.
- Strong analytical and market research skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
