Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Context:
- Interstoff Apparels Ltd. is seeking a proactive, analytical, and result-oriented Senior Executive – Yarn Procurement to manage yarn sourcing and procurement activities for knit garment production. The incumbent will be responsible for supplier development, price negotiation, order execution, shipment follow-up, sustainability and traceability compliance, and ensuring uninterrupted yarn supply in line with production schedules and buyer requirements.
- Job Responsibilities:
- 1. Yarn Sourcing & Procurement
- Source cotton and blended yarns from approved local and international suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier quotations considering quality, price, lead time, payment terms, and capacity.
- Conduct cost analysis and negotiate prices to ensure competitive sourcing.
- 2. Order Management & Execution
- Monitor order status, shipment schedules, and delivery timelines to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate with suppliers and Commercial teams regarding LC, shipping documents, and customs-related matters.
- Ensure timely booking and availability of yarn as per production plans.
- 3. Sustainability & Traceability Compliance
- Maintain complete documentation for sustainable and traceable yarns, including Physical BCI, GOTS, OCS, GRS, and RCS programs.
- Support buyer and third-party sustainability audits by ensuring availability and accuracy of traceability records.
- Monitor yarn issuance and consumption to maintain traceability integrity,
- 4. Supplier Management
- Maintain strong relationships with local and overseas yarn suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, responsiveness, and service.
- Resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and commercial issues.
- 5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain procurement records including quotations, POs, contracts, shipment status, invoices, and traceability documents.
- Prepare regular reports on yarn procurement status, supplier performance, and market trends.
- 6. Cross-functional Coordination
- Liaise with Merchandising, Planning, Production, Commercial, QA, Warehouse, and Compliance teams for smooth execution of procurement activities.
- Support troubleshooting and provide sourcing alternatives to minimize production disruptions.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering, or any related subject.
Experience Requirements
- 3 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Textile
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 27 years
- Sound knowledge of cotton and blended yarns, yarn counts, spinning processes, and yarn quality parameters.
- Familiarity with local and international yarn markets and supplier networks.
- Knowledge of sustainable and traceable yarn standards, including BCI, GOTS, OCS, GRS, and RCS will be an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, cost evaluation, and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP software and MS Office applications.
- Candidates with exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation tools, data analytics, and digital procurement solutions will be given preference.
- Preference will be given to candidates having a PGD, MBA, or professional certifications in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related disciplines (e.g., CIPS, ISCEA, APICS/ASCM, CPSM).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
