Job Description / Responsibility
- Lead and manage all finishing operations, including thread trimming, stain removal, ironing, measurement checking, metal detection, folding, packing, carton packing, and shipment preparation.
- Ensure smooth execution of finishing processes to achieve daily production targets while maintaining buyer quality standards.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Merchandising, Planning, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to meet shipment schedules.
- Monitor finishing line productivity and optimize manpower, machine utilization, and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure garments meet buyer specifications regarding appearance, measurements, labeling, packing, and presentation before final inspection.
- Lead pre-final and final quality reviews to minimize defects and ensure high first-pass approval rates.
- Oversee compliance with buyer packing manuals and shipment requirements.
- Analyze production reports, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework, improve efficiency, and minimize operational costs.
- Ensure proper implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other productivity improvement tools.
- Maintain workplace safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards throughout the finishing area.
- Develop and mentor department managers, supervisors, and staff to build a high-performing team.
- Prepare and present departmental performance reports to senior management.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Industrial & Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A master's degree or professional certifications in Production Management, Lean Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
