Job Description / Responsibility
- Trident Furniture is one of the leading furniture manufacturers and interior solution providers in Bangladesh, serving residential, commercial, and corporate projects with premium-quality furniture and customized solutions.
- We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – VAT to lead all VAT compliance activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the Finance & Accounts Department in maintaining accurate VAT records and reporting.
- The selected candidate will report directly to the Head of Finance & Accounts and work closely with Production, Procurement, Commercial, Sales, and Internal Audit teams.
- Job Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with the VAT & Supplementary Duty Act, 2012 and all applicable Rules.
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly VAT Returns through the NBR Online VAT System.
- Prepare and maintain all required Mushak forms, VAT registers, and statutory records.
- Ensure accurate VAT accounting for local purchases, imports, production, sales, and services.
- Monitor VAT deductions, adjustments, rebates, and input tax credit.
- Coordinate VAT audits, assessments, inspections, and regulatory visits.
- Liaise with the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and other regulatory authorities regarding VAT matters.
- Review purchase invoices, sales invoices, and financial documents to ensure VAT compliance.
- Provide VAT guidance to Production, Procurement, Sales, Commercial, and Accounts departments.
- Monitor inventory transactions to ensure VAT compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
- Identify VAT risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare VAT-related reports for management.
- Ensure timely renewal and maintenance of VAT registrations and licenses.
- Support internal and external auditors during VAT audits.
- Assist management in VAT planning and process improvement.
- Keep management informed about changes in VAT laws, SROs, and NBR regulations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Architecture Firm, Audit Firms /Tax Consultant, Furniture, Furniture Manufacturer, Manufacturing (FMCG), Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Metal & Aluminium Manufacturing
