Job Description / Responsibility
- North South University (NSU), the first private university in Bangladesh, seeks applications from candidates with required qualifications and experience for the position of Sub Assistant Engineer (Electrical), Department of Operations & Maintenance (O&M).

- The Department of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is responsible for the operation, maintenance and upkeep of North South University's campus infrastructure and facilities. The department ensures the efficient functioning of building services, utility systems, engineering installations and maintenance activities to provide a safe, secure and conducive environment for the NSU community.
- Reporting Supervisor: Director, Department of O&M
- Job Responsibilities:
- Perform the daily operation & regular maintenance of Power Generation Plants (1.344 MW Gas Generators, 1.0 MW
- Diesel Generators, 320 KW Diesel Generators and cooling towers, pumps, PHE etc.).
- Perform daily operation of 11/0.40 KV, 4000 KVA Electrical Sub Station-HT, LT Panels, Transformers, AVR etc.
- Perform daily operation of 120 KVA and 100 KVA online central UPS.
- Perform daily load management using GRID synchronization.
- Monitor & supervise the overall plant operation by SCADA system.
- Perform preventive maintenance of the power generation plant, Substation & online UPS.
- Implement the predictive and preventive maintenance of the plant.
- Assist in troubleshooting of any problem at plant when necessary.
- Monitor and control inventory of spares and other engineering materials.
- Assist in any modification or project work.
- Ensure safe working environment at plant.
- Any other work assigned by top management.
Educational Requirements
- B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from any reputed university.
- 4-years Diploma in Electrical/Power Engineering is must.
Experience Requirements
- At least 8 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): University
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At most 40 years
- Experience: Minimum 8 years practical experience including 6 years in Captive Gas Power Generation Plant.
- Experience in MWM Gas Generator, GRID Synchronization & SCADA System will be given preference.
- Other Terms and Conditions:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, supervisory experience, and well conversant in computer applications.
- Willingness to work on holidays and after office-hours if necessary.
- Third division/class/ equivalent CGPA of the candidates in any educational level will not be accepted.
