Job Description / Responsibility
- Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Department Management
- Lead and manage the Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, and Project Execution departments.
- Develop departmental strategies, KPIs, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Mentor, coach, and supervise architects, interior designers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and project coordinators.
- Build a high-performance, collaborative, and client-focused design team.
- Ensure effective resource planning and workload distribution.
- Architectural & Interior Design Management
- Lead concept design, schematic design, design development, and detailed construction documentation.
- Review and approve architectural, interior, and technical drawings before client submission.
- Ensure all designs are functional, innovative, sustainable, and aesthetically outstanding.
- Oversee space planning, material selection, lighting concepts, ceiling layouts, furniture planning, and finishing details.
- Ensure compliance with Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), fire safety regulations, and applicable international standards.
- Project Planning & Execution
- Plan, organize, and manage multiple interior and architectural projects simultaneously.
- Develop project schedules, work breakdown structures, and execution plans.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure timely delivery.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular project review meetings with stakeholders.
- Site Supervision & Quality Control
- Supervise construction and interior fit-out activities.
- Ensure work execution complies with approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor workmanship, finishing quality, safety practices, and project progress.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.
- Resolve technical issues arising during execution.
- Engineering Coordination
- Coordinate Architectural, Structural, MEP, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Civil Engineering disciplines.
- Review shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure seamless multidisciplinary integration.
- Evaluate engineering solutions for constructability and cost optimization.
- BOQ, Estimation & Cost Control
- Review and approve BOQs, material specifications, cost estimates, and project budgets.
- Monitor project costs and profitability.
- Optimize material usage without compromising quality.
- Support procurement with technical evaluations and vendor selection.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Meet clients to understand project objectives and business requirements.
- Present concepts, layouts, mood boards, and design proposals.
- Build long-term client relationships through exceptional service.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Vendor & Contractor Management
- Evaluate contractors and suppliers.
- Conduct technical negotiations.
- Monitor contractor performance.
- Ensure quality, timelines, and contractual compliance.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation of drawings, contracts, approvals, revisions, and project records.
- Maintain design standards and document control.
- Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Business Development Support
- Participate in project bidding and proposal preparation.
- Support client presentations and technical meetings.
- Provide technical input for marketing materials and company profiles.
- Identify new business opportunities and industry trends.
- Reporting
- Prepare regular management reports including:
- Project Status Reports
- Design Progress Reports
- Budget vs Actual Cost Reports
- Resource Utilization Reports
- Site Progress Reports
- Quality Audit Reports
- Risk Assessment Reports
- Client Feedback Reports
- Monthly Department Performance Reports
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) from a recognized university.
- Master`s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Project Management will be an advantage.
- Membership in the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) or other relevant professional bodies will be preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Architecture Firm, Engineering Firms, Interior Design, Real Estate
