Job Description / Responsibility
- Ensure proper compliance with the VAT & Supplementary Duty Act, 2012 and applicable rules, SROs, and NBR instructions.
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly VAT returns and related documents within the prescribed deadlines.
- Maintain and review all Mushak/VAT records, registers, challans, invoices, purchase and sales documents.
- Ensure accurate calculation of Output VAT, Input VAT, VDS and other applicable VAT-related amounts.
- Monitor VAT deductions, deposits, and adjustments and ensure proper documentation.
- Handle VAT audits, inspections, assessments, queries, notices, and hearings.
- Liaise professionally with NBR, VAT Circle/Commissionerate offices and other relevant government authorities.
- Ensure proper VAT documentation for import, export, procurement, sales, and other business transactions.
- Identify VAT-related risks and recommend appropriate corrective measures to management.
- Provide VAT-related advice to Accounts, Commercial, Procurement, Sales, and other departments.
- Keep the management updated regarding changes in VAT laws, regulations, SROs, and NBR circulars.
- Supervise and guide the VAT team and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain proper records and ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Commerce (MCom) in in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- NBR Certified VAT Consultant (VAT Consultant Certificate) or relevant VAT training will be preferred
Experience Requirements
- 7 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Textile, Group of Companies, Spinning
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 35 years
- Only Male
- Candidates with experience in manufacturing, garments/textile, or group of companies. Spinning Mills experience will be preferred.
- Strong practical experience in VAT return preparation, Mushak documentation, VDS, VAT audit, and NBR liaison is required. These are common core responsibilities in comparable Bangladesh Manager–VAT roles.
- Strong knowledge of Bangladesh VAT laws, rules, SROs, and NBR procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software will be preferred.Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Honest, responsible, proactive, and capable of handling confidential financial information.
