Job Description / Responsibility
- Design and analyze RCC and steel structures for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Prepare structural design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Perform structural analysis and design using ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD.
- Review architectural and MEP drawings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure construction complies with approved structural drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Supervise structural construction activities and monitor workmanship, materials, progress, and project schedules.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQ, cost estimates, and provide support for budgeting and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, design standards, project specifications, and QA/QC requirements.
- Identify and resolve structural and technical issues during design and construction.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, architects, MEP engineers, and clients for smooth project execution.
- Prepare progress reports and provide technical updates to senior engineers, consultants, and clients.
- Participate in project meetings and provide recommendations on structural design, constructability, and cost optimization.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, CAD technicians, and site staff when required.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering
Experience Requirements
- 8 to 15 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Architecture Firm, Engineering Firms
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 30 to 45 years
- Strong knowledge of BNBC, ACI, ASTM, AISC, and relevant international design codes. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Tekla, or similar.
- Experience in preparing structural calculations, design reports, drawings, BOQ, and cost estimates.
- Ability to review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and construction schedules.
- Experience in high-rise buildings, industrial structures, warehouses, factories, and infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Sound knowledge of quality control (QA/QC), construction safety, and project management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project reporting tools.
- Must be proactive, result-oriented, and capable of working under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Membership of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) will be preferred.
