Job Description / Responsibility
- Leadership: Exhibit excellent leadership capability and staff management skills through the preparation and execution of daily work programs.
- Production Planning: Acknowledge order quantities in advance to formulate effective production plans. Liaise with Top Management and give necessary directives to Production Managers to align with overall factory targets.
- Target Achievement: Keep close eyes to attain acceptable production limits and ensure strict implementation of the production schedule. If targets are missed, analyze root causes and guide the team for output maximization.
- Cost Control: Implement price-controlled policies at every stage of the cutting production to minimize overall production costs.
- Sample Coordination: Give necessary directives to the Production/Sample team to execute buyer samples flawlessly and secure mass production approval.
- Organizational Policy: Ensure that all subordinates fulfill their duties and responsibilities as vested in them according to the organizational policy.
- Planning & Scheduling: Align daily cutting operations with the master production schedule and planned cut dates to meet the exact requirements of the downstream sewing lines.
- Fabric & Marker Verification: Inspect and verify markers, fabric rolls, shade bands, shrinkage reports, and lay ratios before bulk cutting begins.
- Waste & Consumption Control: Monitor fabric utilization strictly to minimize wastage, control scrap, and adhere to given merchandising budgets.
- Supervision & Workflow: Supervise overall activities in the cutting section. Oversee spreading, numbering, bundling, and cutting machine operators to ensure high output and accuracy.
- Reporting & Coordination: Maintain accurate registers for fabric issuance, cut quantities, and balance stock. Prepare daily productivity reports and presentations for management using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
Educational Requirements
- HSC
- Diploma in Engineering
- Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)

- Pattern & Shape Precision: Ensure flawless cutting accuracy for small, complex headwear components (front panels, crowns, visors, and sweatbands) according to strict buyer tech packs.
- Visor & Fusing Control:Oversee the specialized cutting and fusing of stiff materials like buckram and plastic visor inserts without causing fabric warping.
- Fabric Relaxation: Monitor and enforce proper relaxation time for multi-component fabrics (e.g., heavy brushed twill, canvas, and mesh blends) before cutting to prevent shrinkage.
- Marker Efficiency: Collaborate closely with the CAD department to optimize marker planning, reducing fabric consumption and minimizing waste specifically for low-yield headwear lays.
- Sorting & Bundling Systems: Implement foolproof numbering, shade matching, and sequential bundling systems to prevent panel mixing before parts move to the embroidery or sewing floors.
- Check cut panels against approved specifications, size sets, and trial cuts before bulk release. Have a clear idea about garment quality and guide subordinates to take corrective measures for any quality issues to maintain exportable standards.
- Compliance Audit: Take responsibility during audits conducted by buyers regarding technical and compliance issues in the cutting room.
- Safety Measures: Ensure and enforce all necessary safety protocols and measures in connection with cutting operations.
- HR Integration: Take necessary measures in coordination with the Admin, HR & Compliance Dept. to uphold human rights, ensure a safe working environment, and focus on human resource development.
