Job Description / Responsibility
- To lead the Wash Costing function by preparing accurate, competitive, and financially viable wash cost estimates for woven garments, ensuring effective cost control, profitability, and commercial competitiveness. The role collaborates closely with Merchandising, Wash Development, Procurement, Production, and Finance to optimize wash processes, standardize costing methodologies, and support informed business decisions while maintaining compliance with customer requirements and company financial policies.
- Prepare accurate wash costing for development samples and bulk production based on buyer requirements and garment specifications.
- Analyze wash processes, chemical consumption, utilities, labor, machine utilization, and overhead costs to develop comprehensive cost sheets.
- Review wash recipes and recommend cost-effective alternatives without compromising buyer quality requirements.
- Coordinate with Wash Development, Merchandising, Production, and Procurement to obtain accurate process and consumption data.
- Monitor fluctuations in chemical, utility, and processing costs and update costing standards accordingly.
- Conduct cost variance analysis between estimated and actual wash costs and recommend corrective actions.
- Support Merchandising during customer negotiations by providing timely and commercially competitive costing information.
- Develop and maintain standardized costing models, databases, and costing SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies, internal controls, environmental standards, and buyer compliance requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize wash costs, improve profitability, and enhance costing accuracy.
- Prepare periodic costing reports, profitability analyses, and management reports for senior leadership.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen technical and analytical capabilities.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting, Finance
Experience Requirements
- 8 to 12 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Textile, Garments Accessories, Washing Factory
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 30 to 45 years
- CA (Chartered Accountancy) Intermediate Level or
- CMA Intermediate Level (minimum 1,200 marks completed).
- Relevant experience in Costing, Finance, Commercial, or Wash Costing within a reputed woven garment manufacturing organization.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong experience in garment wash costing, profitability analysis, and cost control is preferred.
