Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Context:
- AKH Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. is a knit composite factory. We want to hire an experienced Manager for Dyeing Quality who is responsible for ensuring that all dyed fabrics meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality specifications.
- Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain dyeing quality standards and procedures.
- Ensure dyed fabrics meet approved shade, color fastness, and physical property requirements.
- Monitor quality performance at all stages of dyeing and finishing operations.
- Establish quality assurance systems to minimize defects and customer complaints.
- Approve bulk production after successful lab dip and pilot lot evaluations.
- Monitor dyeing process parameters including temperature, pH, liquor ratio, dosing sequence, and processing time.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Analyze process variations and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Production and Technical teams to improve process capability.
- Evaluate lab dips, bulk shades, and color approvals.
- Ensure consistency between approved standards and bulk production.
- Monitor and control shade variation within acceptable tolerances.
- Manage spectrophotometer-based color assessment and shade matching systems.
- Supervise in-process and final fabric inspections.
- Verify test results for: Color fastness to washing, rubbing, perspiration, and light, Dimensional stability, GSM and fabric appearance, Spirality and skewness, Pilling and bursting strength, Ensure testing complies with buyer and international standards.
- Handle customer complaints and quality-related audits.
- Prepare quality reports and corrective action plans.
- Lead and develop quality inspectors, laboratory personnel, and quality executives.
- Conduct training programs on quality standards and testing procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality failures.
- Implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce reprocessing, shade rejection, and fabric defects.
- Monitor key quality indicators and implement improvement strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports.
- Ensure traceability and document control as per company requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, OEKO-TEX, GOTS, ZDHC, and environmental regulations where applicable.
- Promote workplace safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
- Masters
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering (Wet Processing preferred)
- Master's Degree will be an added advantage
Experience Requirements
- 8 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Group of Companies, Dyeing Factory
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 35 to 45 years
- Strong knowledge of knit fabric dyeing processes.
- Expertise in reactive, disperse, sulfur, and pigment dyeing.
- Knowledge of laboratory operations and color matching.
- Understanding of textile testing standards (AATCC, ISO, ASTM).
- Experience with ERP and quality management systems.
- Decision-making and negotiation Process improvement and Lean Manufacturing concepts
