Job Description / Responsibility
- Technical & Core Competencies:
- Retail Operations Leadership: Proven expertise in managing multi-outlet superstore operations, driving operational efficiency, service standards, and consistent execution across stores.
- Sales & Commercial Management: Strong track record in sales growth, revenue optimization, gross-margin improvement, promotional effectiveness, and store-level commercial performance.
- P&L & Financial Management: Hands-on experience managing store/cluster P&L, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, EBITDA contribution, and profitability improvement.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Strong command of inventory planning, stock accuracy, replenishment, FIFO/FEFO practices, shrinkage control, cycle counting, stock audits, and dead-stock reduction.
- Fresh Food & Perishables: Expertise in fresh produce, meat, fish, dairy, bakery, and other perishables, including cold-chain management, temperature control, wastage reduction, shelf-life management, and quality assurance.
- Supply Chain & Procurement Coordination: Practical knowledge of demand forecasting, replenishment, warehouse operations, supplier coordination, distribution, logistics, and end-to-end retail supply-chain processes.
- Category Management & Merchandising: Ability to manage food and non-food categories through assortment planning, pricing, planograms, space productivity, category profitability, promotions, and cross-merchandising.
- SOP, Process & Compliance Management: Experience developing, implementing, auditing, and continuously improving standardized SOPs covering store operations, cash management, inventory, food safety, security, hygiene, customer service, and loss prevention.
- ERP, POS & Retail Technology: Strong working knowledge of ERP and retail systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or equivalent platforms, along with POS, inventory management, loyalty, e-commerce, and online order-fulfillment systems.
- Data & KPI Management: Ability to establish and monitor KPIs including sales growth, gross margin, stock turnover, inventory accuracy, shrinkage, wastage, basket size, conversion, labor productivity, customer satisfaction, and store profitability.
- Visual Merchandising & Customer Experience: Strong understanding of planograms, promotional displays, end-caps, pricing communication, store presentation, customer journey, and retail experience standards.
- People & Leadership: Proven ability to lead large, multi-functional retail teams, develop store managers and department heads, establish performance targets, conduct training, and build a strong performance-driven culture.
- Audit, Risk & Loss Prevention: Experience in internal controls, cash reconciliation, stock audits, theft/fraud prevention, security procedures, compliance monitoring, and operational risk management.
- Business Analytics & Reporting: Proficiency in analyzing sales, inventory, margin, operational, and customer data and converting insights into actionable commercial and operational decisions.
- Change & Expansion Management: Experience in new-store openings, store turnaround, process transformation, business expansion, and implementation of standardized systems across multiple locations.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain. MBA preferred.
- Experience: 8–10+ years in organized retail/superstore operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-store/cluster operations.
- Core Skills: Strong expertise in Sales & P&L, Retail Operations, Inventory & Shrinkage Control, Cold Chain & Perishables, Category Management, Supply Chain, ERP/POS, SOP Compliance, and Team Leadership.
- Preferred: Experience in superstores, hypermarkets, supermarkets, or FMCG retail chains.
