Job Description / Responsibility
  • Noapara Group is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Dy. Manager / Manager – Commercial to manage and coordinate commercial activities related to Coal, Wheat, Fertilizer and other Trading businesses and practical knowledge of *bulk commodity and fertilizer import, LC, banking, shipping, customs, and import regulations*.. The incumbent will be responsible for import/export documentation, LC-related activities, shipment coordination, customs and port documentation, supplier/customer coordination, and ensuring smooth execution of commercial transactions.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • * Manage day-to-day *Import & Commercial operations*, including LC opening, amendment, document processing, retirement, and settlement.
  • * Handle *Sight, Deferred/Usance and UPAS LC, Advance TT, Documentary Collection, CAQ, CAD*, and other import-related trade instruments.
  • * Prepare, scrutinize, and verify *PI, LC Draft, Final LC, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, H.S. Code, Certificates*, and other import documents.
  • * Maintain *LC Statements, LC-wise shipment/payment records, outstanding liabilities, and import transaction status*.
  • * Prepare and review *Import Costing*, including product cost, freight, insurance, customs duty, taxes, port charges, C&F charges, and other related costs.
  • * Maintain good working knowledge of *UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, Import Regulations, Bangladesh Bank guidelines, and applicable customs procedures*.
  • * Handle *LOI, bank document endorsement, document retirement/release*, and submission of documents to C&F agents for customs clearance.
  • * Coordinate with banks regarding *LC opening/amendment, document discrepancies, acceptance, payment, LATR, post-import finance, and settlement*.
  • * Coordinate with *foreign suppliers, banks, insurance companies, shipping lines, freight forwarders, C&F agents, customs, and port authorities*.
  • * Monitor *customs assessment, duty/tax calculation, payment, clearance, port handling, and delivery* of imported consignments.
  • * Ensure timely collection of shipping documents from banks and proper endorsement/hand-over to C&F agents.
  • * Handle *commercial licenses, certificates, registrations, renewals, and regulatory approvals* related to import operations.
  • * Maintain proper records and preservation of all *LC, banking, import, shipping, customs, and commercial documents*.
  • * Ensure compliance with applicable *banking, customs, import, trade, and regulatory requirements*.
  • * Coordinate with Finance, Accounts, SCM, Insurance, and C&F teams and supervise the commercial team.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management, International Business or a relevant discipline.
  • Professional qualifications in Commercial/International Trade will be an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
  • 7 to 10 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Group of Companies, Trading or Export/Import

Additional Job Requirements
  • Age At most 40 years
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in Commercial/Import operations*.
  • Practical experience in *Bulk Commodity and Fertilizer Import/Trading* will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with *Wheat, Food Grain, Peas, Fertilizer, Coal, Stone, or similar commodities* will be preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of import and commercial documentation.
  • Good understanding of LC, Incoterms, customs procedures and shipping documentation.
  • Good communication, negotiation and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to coordinate with different departments and external stakeholders.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in Commercial/Import/Trading operations.
  • Must have practical experience in at least two or more of the following commodities: Coal, Wheat, Fertilizer and other Trading commodities.
  • Candidates with strong experience in commodity trading and import commercial operations will be preferred.
  • Experience in handling LC, import documentation, customs, port and shipping-related commercial activities is essential.
  • Experience in a reputed Trading, Commodity, Import, Manufacturing or Group of Companies will be an advantage.
