Job Description / Responsibility
- Our client is a growing specialized firm operating in Bangladesh, focusing on insurance survey, risk assessment, and technical asset valuation. We are looking for an energetic, dynamic, and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to oversee our day-to-day financial accounting, ensure compliance with national VAT and Tax regulations, prepare accurate financial statements, and support executive reporting.
- Day-to-Day Accounting: Maintain daily bookkeeping, petty cash management, journal vouchers, debit/credit entries, and bank reconciliations using accounting software.
- VAT & Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns (Mushak 9.1) accurately and timely in accordance with NBR regulations.
- Manage Withholding Tax (TDS) and VAT Deducted at Source (VDS).
- Manage corporate tax filing, annual tax returns, and audit preparation.
- Financial Reporting & Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Cash Flow Statement).
- Billing & Receivables: Prepare invoice/bills for survey and valuation services, maintain client accounts, and actively follow up on receivables.
- Audit & Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc financial and analytical reports requested by senior management and liaise with external auditors.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance / Accounting
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Finance / Accounting
- Master of Commerce (MCom) in Finance / Accounting
- CA Knowledge Level / Cost & Management Accountant (CMA) partly qualified candidates will receive preference.

- Candidate must be organized and proactive in executing duties without needing follow-up from manager.

- 2 to 4 year(s) of practical experience in Accounting, VAT, and Tax management.
- Computer Literacy (Mandatory): High proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, computerized accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime, QuickBooks, or custom ERP), and e-VAT/NBR online portal submission.
- Strong knowledge of current Bangladesh Income Tax Act and VAT & SD Act.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bengali.
