- Position Overview
- We are seeking a Legal Specialist to support PalmPay Bangladesh by handling specific legal areas such as labor law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, corporate legal matters, fraud investigations, and customer complaint resolution.
- This role will focus on legal execution, documentation, advisory support, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance while ensuring alignment with local laws, company policies, and DNCRP requirements.
- Key Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory & Execution
- Provide legal advice on assigned areas including labor law, intellectual property, and commercial matters.
- Support business and internal departments with day-to-day legal consultations.
- Interpret laws, regulations, and regulatory guidelines applicable in Bangladesh.
- Contract & Document Management
- Draft, review, and analyze contracts, agreements, MOUs, and legal documents.
- Identify legal risks in contracts and propose practical mitigation measures.
- Maintain proper documentation and legal records.
- Legal Research & Analysis
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, rules, and judicial precedents.
- Prepare legal opinions, summaries, and internal legal guidance notes.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business.
- Compliance, Fraud & Risk Support
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Bangladesh labor laws, company policies, regulatory requirements, and DNCRP obligations.
- Investigate and resolve fraud cases and customer complaints while ensuring compliance with DNCPR requirements.
- Support internal investigations, dispute handling, and compliance reviews.
- Assess legal and regulatory risks arising from fraud incidents and customer disputes, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with external lawyers, regulators, and authorities when required.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with HR, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, and Business teams.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address fraud-related matters, customer complaints, and regulatory inquiries in a timely and compliant manner.
- Support internal training sessions on legal awareness, fraud prevention, customer protection, and compliance topics.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Law (LLB)
- Master of Law (LLM)
- Bangladesh Bar Council license (Advocate license mandatory)
- Additional professional legal certifications are an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- 3 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Banks, Financial Technology (Fintech) Startup
