Job Description / Responsibility
- Habib Bank Limited (HBL), a leading regional bank operating in Bangladesh, is seeking an accomplished banking professional for the position of Head - Corporate Banking.
- The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Bank's Corporate Banking franchise by driving sustainable growth across both asset and liability portfolios, strengthening key corporate relationships, expanding transaction banking business, and ensuring prudent portfolio management in line with the Bank's strategic objectives, risk appetite, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the Corporate Banking franchise and drive sustainable growth across the Bank's asset, liability, and fee-based business portfolios.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to acquire new corporate and institutional relationships while strengthening existing client partnerships.
- Drive growth in corporate lending, deposits, cash management, trade finance, treasury-related products, and transaction banking solutions.
- Ensure robust credit underwriting, portfolio management, and risk assessment in compliance with HBL policies and Bangladesh Bank regulations.
- Monitor asset quality, industry trends, market developments, and portfolio concentrations, taking proactive measures to mitigate emerging risks.
- Collaborate with Risk Management, Treasury, and other stakeholders to optimize balance sheet performance, liquidity, and risk-adjusted returns.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, AML/CFT, Sustainable Finance, and internal governance requirements.
- Lead business performance management, including achievement of revenue, profitability, deposit growth, portfolio quality, and budget targets.
- Provide strategic insights and periodic reporting to Senior Management on business performance, portfolio trends, and growth opportunities.
- Foster a high-performance culture through effective leadership, talent development, succession planning, coaching, and employee engagement.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to enhance client experience, wallet share, and overall relationship profitability.
- Champion innovation and digital banking solutions to strengthen the Bank's competitive position within the corporate banking segment.
- Drive a robust governance and control framework by ensuring the prompt resolution of audit and regulatory findings, fostering a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the business.
- Proactively identify and facilitate cross-border business opportunities between Bangladesh and countries where HBL has an on-ground presence, leveraging the Bank's international network to drive trade finance, and corporate banking relationships, while supporting client acquisition and revenue growth across corridors.
- Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (subject to transfer to any other location within the country)
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor/Master`s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
Experience Requirements
- 12 to 15 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Banks
Additional Job Requirements
- Experience: 12-15 years including at least 8 years’ experience of working in Corporate/SME banking in a senior position at a reputed local/Foreign bank.
